What do you write in a details card?
A common question that often comes up is 'What do we write for the details/ info card?' It's a tricky one to know how much information you need to be sharing with your guests, I mean you don't want to be bombarding them but at the same time there are certain things they need to know. We don't want Uncle Bob strolling in at 1pm on the dot when you're waiting at the end of the eisle about to go through one of the biggest moments of your life!
So we've compiled a basic details card to help guide you with writing yours. Obviously all weddings are different and you will need to add / remove bits, but hopefully this should shed some light on how to tackle it.
The big day
The ceremony will take place in the summer house of the Grand Old Hotel in Bristol at 2pm, please arrive to be seated at 1.45pm. Directions to the venue can be found on their website - thegrandoldhotel.com. Parking for guests will be signposted. After the ceremony, pimms and fizz will be served on the lawn, along with games for all ages. The reception will take place in the Ballroom of the hotel.
Accommodation & Taxis
We have reserved all the rooms at the hotel, these will be available to book until the 1st of June 2016. Please quote Alex and Ben when you make your booking. Alternatively there are loads of hotels to choose from in Bristol. We recommend booking a taxi in advance, the venue is quite remote so it will be hard to get a cab on the night. Here is a list of local taxis and numbers.....
The biggest gift you can give us is your attendance at the celebration of our marriage, however should you wish to give a wedding gift, we would be more than happy to receive a donation towards our honeymoon.
Directions is a common query for the details card, I would say don't bother, most people will use google maps these days or have a sat nav so it's just just taking up precious space! However if you are getting married in deepest depths of cornwall (like we did!) then you may need to give some directions, again it's totally personal to your big day.
We hope this guide makes the crazy journey of planning your wedding a little easier!
